The Asiatic Lilies are beautiful; as is the entire picture.
I will show my ignorance here....what is POV? In literature it is Point of View; but I do not know the meaning as applied to your art style.

Thanks.

POVRay is a raytracer - for rendering 3D images. POV stands for "Persistence Of Vision" [link] And I don't think it's ignorance, I don't think too many people have heard of it. :giggle:

Are you aware of Marjorie's work?

The connection I made is, I suppose, a bit tenuous. Marjorie, especially early on, was a 3d artist who retained a lot of her painterly sense of things. In particular a delight in strong color and compositions which flatten out a bit. This picture with its Matisse-like patterns and slightly flattened composition, especially the way the flower petals blend a bit with the wall texture, made me think a bit of both good old Matisse, and Marjorie. That's all. Recently she did a bunch of math and fractal pieces too. So I thought I would mention her work to you. You, however are coming at it with slightly stronger programming and math ability perhaps. Marjorie has a strong art background and is often tapping that iconographically and eastheticallly when she works. Whenever I comment on her work I am a bit of a bull in a china shop, nad she lets me know it! So I invite you to do the same. On her side she fled the POV groups. I think she browses the images now and a gain though.

I looked at her art again, she has some nice 3D fractals. There's a guy on da, who writes all his own programs to render his 3D fractals, amazing stuff.

Yes I picked up on him while reading the comment threads for your work. His stuff is remarkably original.

this is so fresh and flowery and dare I say...flamboyant. I love the detail in the background, it's so ornate-and contrasts well with the flowers!

This is pretty. And you used an abundance of my favorite color. w00t What exactly is POVray? Is it a program? Have a great Sunday.

Thanks! POVray is a free 3D rendering program. You write "programs" for it and it draws what you tell it to. Its kinda nerdy, but fun (to me ayway).

Where can I find this program at? Is it one that is frequently used? Now when you say it draws what you tell it to, what exactly does it mean?

Hi, I guess a lot of people use it. You can get it here-> [link]
Its got a steep learning curve, but you can do some simple stuff pretty quickly. On this picture, I drew the wallpaper, flower petals, etc in Painter and then input the pictures into the program. Maybe its more user freindly these days, I did this picture a few years ago.
