Three Apples by parrotdolphin Three Apples by parrotdolphin
Some apples modelled in Blender and rendered in POV-Ray with HDRI. The tiles are POV-Ray code.
The apples are UV mapped with some textures I made in Photoshop (no photos of apples were used in making the textures). I like the way they came out. :)

It's nice to know that many deviants use POV-Ray to render their works modelled in other programs :)

Blender takes a while to learn.
HDRI makes the tiles look more real. :)

:lmao: My son is the real threat to apples, not I. He likes to injure them with the vegetable peeler. Kids are so weird and adorable. :)

Yeah, the red one... Isn't that the sort of apple the wicked Queen gave to Snow White?
I'd say you have chosen wisely. :D

You are getting soooo good at your textures! Both on the apples and the floor. Plus the lighting is excelent. After this semester I have to try some of that HDRI lighting...

I like the way they came out too :D Those apples look very eatable!

As a possible next step, the variety of apples I usually buy usually has some red patches and some yellow-green patches, with the color varying smoothly between them.

This is absolutley great and considering you didnt use real images in the apples texture, its even better. Colourful, skillfull ...and I just love that floor!

your welcome, it was well deserved. Tried to texture a floor like that myself but my results were nowhere near that standard.

Thanks, the floor is done in POV-Ray. You can define some really interesting textures with it.

:) Be warned, POV-Ray uses its own programming language. It doesn't have the usual interface you'd expect, but PoseRay (also free) is a good interface for it. If you want some help on it, let me know.

Thanks for your kind offer but having since had a look at their site ...its all a bit beyond me. I'm only just getting to grips with what I'm using now so perhaps thats something to look into when I'm a little more competent. Its really kind of you though so thanks again.
