Bastard Torus From Hell Take 1 by parrotdolphin Bastard Torus From Hell Take 1 by parrotdolphin
A render using a POV-Ray macro which the creator calls "The Bastard Torus from Hell". Once I saw the macro, I realized this was the perfect name for it. :)
The macro is here: [link]

This is weird but true. The King Bull came to me in a dream last night. He was big and black and shiny and laoded with muscles. It was night and there was a storm. I decided he wouldn't hurt me.

A minced oath, also known as a pseudo-profanity, is an expression based on a profanity which has been altered to reduce or remove the disagreeable or objectionable characteristics of the original expression; for example, "gosh" used instead of "God", "darn" or "dang" instead of "damn", "heck" instead of "hell", and "blimey" instead of "May God blind me!" Nearly all profanities have minced variants; the words that are most taboo give rise to the most.

I put a modification into the guy's macro so you could define whole texture statements in the array instead of just the rgb value. If you want/need it, just let me know. :)

I love the concept girl but I bet you can do better with your own fractal textures than with this standard PS texture! Though it looks dang good...:D

It isn't a PS texture. It's a lot of math that makes the pattern. He has 65 different patterns. What he did is actually quite brilliant. :boogie:

Sorry I sounded so blythe! It really is a lovely thing. I just thought it was one of the same or similar set patterns in it - shouldn't have been so quick to think so:D

Well, I am not exactly sure what you mean, but, there's 65 different patterns that the person made. I have to choose one of the those. I am not smart enough to figure out how to make a new one on my own.
But anyway, I'm glad you like it LZ. Glad to see you back around DAland too.

That was a roundabout way of saying I was sorry to be offensive! Lol! Sorry. You know I love your stuff. Hope to see more of this kind of thing.

Thanks for welcoming me back. Glad to be back. I was away for a year. Thanks for noticing I was gone! Lol! :D

I didn't think it was offensive at all. You'll have to do a lot better than that to offend me. :giggle:

Yup, I will play with this macro some more, fer sure!
